Stainless, acid-resistant, and heat-resistant steel bars

Bars are simple yet incredibly versatile steel products used as structural elements, fasteners, and semi-finished products for further processing. In our offer, you will find exclusively bars made of stainless steel, acid-resistant steel, and heat-resistant steel – we do not sell aluminum or carbon steel. We offer the possibility of cutting bars to size and provide various finishes depending on the intended use.

What are stainless bars and how can they be used?

Stainless bars are metal elements with a constant cross-section, available as round, flat, and square bars (types of cross-sections depend on warehouse availability). They serve as load-bearing elements, axles, shafts, pins, bolts, spacers, and semi-finished products for turning, milling, or grinding. Due to their corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties, they are widely used where durability and aesthetics are paramount.

Applications of bars – where are stainless steel bars used?

  • Construction and architecture – railings, structural elements, fasteners exposed to external conditions.
  • Industry and power engineering – axles, machine shafts, structural parts of production machinery.
  • Chemical and food industry – rods, spindles, and elements of technological lines where acid-resistant and easy-to-clean materials are required.
  • Automotive and transport – exhaust elements (where heat-resistant alloys are used), fasteners, and mechanical parts.
  • High-temperature industry (fuels, furnaces) – heat-resistant bars for elements exposed to high temperatures.
  • Offshore and marine environments – structural elements and fasteners requiring increased corrosion resistance in saline environments.
  • Hobby and workshop – DIY enthusiasts and locksmiths use bars for repairs, prototypes, and small structures.

Steel grades – what bars do we offer and when to choose them

Below are short, practical descriptions of the most commonly used bar grades. We also provide typical designations used in Europe and the USA (AISI/EN).

304 (AISI 304, EN 1.4301) – Austenitic stainless steel

A universal steel with good corrosion resistance and very good ductility. Easy to weld and process. Ideal for construction, visual elements, and general industrial applications.

316 (AISI 316, EN 1.4401 / 316L EN 1.4404) – Acid-resistant / Marine-grade steel

Better corrosion resistance in the presence of chloride ions (marine environment, certain chemical installations). Recommended where higher corrosion safety than 304 is required.

321 (AISI 321, EN 1.4541) – Stabilized steel

Austenitic steel with titanium stabilization, resistant to intergranular corrosion at intermediate temperatures. Used in structures exposed to thermal cycles and in the aerospace or automotive industries.

310 (AISI 310, EN 1.4841) – Heat-resistant steel

Designed for operation at high temperatures – furnace elements, heating parts, and other high-temperature applications. Characterized by good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures.

410 (AISI 410, EN 1.4006) – Ferritic-martensitic steel

Steel with higher hardness and lower corrosion resistance than austenitic grades – used where mechanical resistance and heat-treatability (e.g., tools, bolts, pins) are needed.

Technical properties and selection tips

When choosing a bar, it is worth paying attention to several parameters:

  • Corrosion resistance – if the product will be used outdoors or in an aggressive environment (salt, chemical compounds), choose higher chromium-nickel grades (e.g., 316).
  • Temperature resistance – for high-temperature work, prefer heat-resistant alloys (e.g., 310).
  • Strength and hardness – for mechanically loaded elements or those requiring hardening, consider ferritic/martensitic grades (e.g., 410).
  • Weldability and processing – austenitic grades (304, 316) are easy to weld and machine; some alloys require specific welding parameters and potential passivation after processing.

Who are our bars for?

Our offer is addressed to a wide range of customers: construction companies, production plants, installation enterprises, automotive and offshore companies, as well as locksmith workshops and individual DIY enthusiasts. Regardless of the level of technical advancement – we provide the materials and information needed for correct selection.

Services and practical information

We offer bars cut to size and advice on selecting the steel grade for a specific application. Bars are available in various diameters and cross-sections – if necessary, we will suggest which parameters will be optimal for your project. After processing, it is worth considering surface passivation to increase corrosion resistance, especially in sanitary and marine applications.

If you need help selecting a bar for a specific project, provide the application, environmental conditions, and expected processing – we will help you choose the grade and size.

Acid-resistant

Austenitic with molybdenum – resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion; for chemicals, processing and chloride environments.

Austenitic stainless

Chromium-nickel without molybdenum – the standard choice for structures, food service and interiors.

Heat-resistant

Higher chromium and silicon – retain strength and scaling resistance at high temperatures.

Martensitic

Hardenable, high hardness – for blades, shafts and wear parts.
