Forged stainless steel flanges are connectors used in industrial installations to facilitate joining pipes, valves and other elements of a given construction. They are manufactured by heating high-quality billets and rods of stainless steel and forming them using a hammer, press or die to give them a specific shape. After forging, the flange is subjected to machining and then finished in accordance with the specifications defined by standards and inspected.
The products we offer are made from high-quality stainless and acid-resistant steel, which provides strength to temperature changes and operation under high pressure as well as corrosion resistance – resulting in many years of trouble-free product use.
Stainless and acid-resistant steel has one more important property, namely the ability to regenerate its surface in damaged areas (e.g., scratches). Furthermore, it should be noted that adding chromium and nickel to the alloy and adding molybdenum and titanium increases the steel’s resistance to oxidizing acids, meaning the forged flanges we stock will perform even in the most demanding installations.
Flanges are classified, among other things, by their ability to withstand operation at specific temperatures and pressures. In our offer we have flanges compliant with the European standard EN1092-1, intended for use at nominal pressures PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40 – which means that the maximum allowable working pressure for a flange, e.g. PN10, is 10 bar – at a medium temperature of +20°C (if the installation is to be adapted to work under other conditions, for recalculating values you should use
the tables from the reference standards used for recalculating parameters). We also stock flanges according to the American standard ASTM ANSI B16.5 class 150 – pressure strength equivalent to PN20. The different pressure ratings result in variations in flange thicknesses and the number of bolt holes.
APPLICATION
The use of flanges provides the possibility to regulate the flow of liquids and gases, and also allows for modifications, cleaning and carrying out necessary repairs of installations. Flanges are essential in industrial sectors involving the transport of liquids and gases. They also perform well
in environments exposed to factors such as high pressure, high and low temperatures, and corrosive chemicals, including: the chemical industry (transport of chemicals, acids, etc.), petrochemical (transport of gases, crude oil, oil, etc.), energy (nuclear power plants, renewable energy), marine (desalination installations, drilling platforms), shipbuilding, pharmaceutical, food (food processing), aviation, sanitary installations, waterworks.
WAREHOUSE OFFER
In our warehouse stock we have four types of forged flanges:
Flat flanges – (EN1092-1/01B, EN1092-1/01A) – external pipe diameter 21.30 mm – 323.90 mm;
steel grades: 1.4301 / 1.4307 / 304 / 304L, 1.4541 / 321, 1.4401 / 316 / 1.4404 / 316L and 1.4571 / 316Ti; This flange connects two sections of pipeline (assembled using bolts), and also fills the gaps between them, preventing leaks. Flanges are used in many industries, providing safe joining of pipes and other components operating at high pressures and temperatures.
Weld neck flanges – (EN1092-1/11B1) – external pipe diameter 21.30 mm – 323.90 mm; steel grades: 1.4301 / 1.4307 / 304 / 304L, 1.4541 / 321, 1.4401 / 316 / 1.4404 /316L, 1.4571 / 316Ti; we also offer weld neck flanges according to ASTM ANSI B16.5-2020 LBS/CLASS 150 (wall thickness 40s) and weld neck flanges for PN6. Weld neck flanges are distinguished by a tapered neck whose end is intended to be welded to the pipe. The flange rim has holes that allow fastening with bolts. The construction of the weld neck flange ensures smooth flow of liquids and gases, and also allows use in installations where high pressure resistance and even stress distribution are required.
Loose flanges – (EN1092-1/02A) – external pipe diameter 21.30 mm – 168.30 mm; in steel grades 1.4301 / 1.4307 / 304 / 304L. Unlike traditional flanges, they are not welded directly to the pipe. Instead, a separate spigot is welded to the pipe, and the loose flange is bolted on. Loose flanges are usually installed in lower working pressure systems. In addition, loose flanges allow adjustment due to their ability to rotate.
Blank flanges – (EN1092-1/05A, EN1092-1/05B) – external pipe diameter 21.30 mm – 273.00 mm; steel grades: 1.4541 / 321, 1.4401 / 316 / 1.4404 / 316L. A blank flange takes the form of a solid disc – it does not have a central hole through which fluids or gases can flow. It is mounted similarly to a flat flange – it contains mounting holes around the entire circumference. This is a flange used to close a pipeline; such closures are used when connecting another line to an existing pipeline or when adding a new valve to the network.
